We talk a lot about doing things well, doing them properly. About strategy, consistency and building something that lasts – and we mean every single word of it.
But I think there’s an equally important thing that doesn’t get said enough in business circles:
Find the joy in it!
Life is short, business can be hard and the to-do list is never ending (and don’t even get me started on the laundry and after school activities when we get home!) so every now and again we need a little light-hearted relief. A proper laugh – the kind of laughing that makes your eyes water, your stomach hurt and your cheeks ache.
So this week, in the thick of the Aberdeen Comedy Festival, between the proposals and the deadlines and the inbox that somehow refills daily, remember to find the joy.
It all matters. The craft and the comedy. The graft and the giggle, if you will.
