At a time when many families are facing increasing challenges, Home-Start Aberdeen provides vital emotional and practical support to families with young children, ensuring they have the right help, at a time when they need it most, from the right people.
Like many charities, Home-Start Aberdeen was operating in an increasingly busy and competitive landscape. Alongside the need to raise awareness of the support it provides to families, the charity also needed to strengthen its visibility to help attract volunteers and secure a diverse mix of funding from corporates, trusts and local authority sources. This was made more challenging by changes in the volunteer landscape, with fewer people able to give their time in the same way as before.
Listening and prioritising – and being mindful of budget – instinct supports the charity with ongoing PR activity. With excellent links to local media, we aim to raise awareness across Aberdeen and the wider region helping the charity maintain strong visibility and build relationships locally.
PR campaigns
With over 20 years’ experience, we have a strong network of relevant media contacts. We develop and deliver targeted PR campaigns to raise awareness of Home-Start Aberdeen’s work, turning stories, milestones and achievements into strong media opportunities that connect with local audiences and helped build wider support for the charity. Over the years this has helped attract enquiries from volunteers, driven corporate support, secured donations and fundraising from supporters.
New charity shop launch support
Opening a new charity shop involves far more than unlocking the door on day one. The level of work the team put into their new Aberdeen charity shop is incredible. We supported the team with the PR and communications around the move and launch, helping tell the story of the new premises, build local interest, attract donations and new customers to contribute to a strong and successful opening.
PR campaigns have resulted in:
“[Instinct are] knowledgeable, well-connected and incredibly personable. They help to take our ideas and make them into tangible products from pictures and videos, to press releases, podcasts and radio/tv spots. They've elevated our profile and supported us to make sure our brand and messaging is clearly understood.”
